A Message to All My Clients Regarding Appointments and Covid-19
What to expect:
—Please be aware that wearing a mask is mandated by the State. If you would like to remove it when face down, this is acceptable ONLY IF YOU AND THE THERAPIST FEEL COMFORTABLE DOING SO. The client and therapist must both wear a mask when the client is in a face-up position. I will be providing disposable surgical masks, but ask that you bring your own when possible.
—I will use hand sanitizer frequently and include hand washing as required in regulations.
—Door knobs, iPads, furniture tops, face cradle cushions and other frequently touched or close contact surfaces will be sanitized between each client.
—Couples massage cannot be booked in the same room until further notice.
—A germ eliminating HEPA and UVC filter will be running at all times.
—Pregnancy massage is not being offered until further notice.
I ask that if you have had COVID-19 or flu-like symptoms, or have been in contact with someone who has, please refrain from booking at this time and observe the 14-day quarantine and get tested.
Please be patient during this time of transition! I look forward to seeing you all!

Governor Lamont just announced on Twitter that Phase 2 goes into effect June 17!
The latest information is that Governor Lamont will talk about the reopening guidelines during his press conference at 4:00 today, and the PDF will be posted on the DECD web site over the weekend informing us about the guidelines and regulations that are going to need to put into place. The personal services industries are, even today, negotiating a few items with DECD and DPH in our collective best interests.
That being said, Im still planning on reopening Sat June 20th. There is always that possibility that Lamont may change his mind at the last minute, like he did with hairdressers, delaying our opening but I am remaining hopeful.
There are new intake and health forms that must be filled out prior to your appointment. Please go to the forms page and print them out and bring them in with you. I will continue to post updates as soon as I have them.
I look forward to working with very soon!

I hope to find all of you and your families faring well during this trying time. The unknown creates havoc and because these times are unprecedented everything is unknown. I want to give everyone an update to what is going on at Hands with Heart Therapeutic Massage.
Due to the executive order massage therapist are still not allowed to open. We are still unsure when we will be allowed to open but we are watching closely. Somehow we are considered non essential health care practitioners even though most of our clients would disagree with that statement.
The first wave of openings are set in place for May 20th. The CDC, government and the department of health are closely watching and collecting data from this first wave to determine what is going to happen in the near future for the next wave. When the time comes we will be implementing many changes to incorporate some of the new sanitary precautions that will be recommended by the CDC, CTDH,and the AMTA. I am just as eager as you are to be able to get back to being a part of your health care plan. When I know more I will most definitely let you know.
I have been filling my time with continued education during the past few months. I have completed an intense medical massage course and have been certified MMT. Medical massage therapy treatment is planned out with a specific goal in mind, and your massage will factor into a larger treatment plan that is based around your health needs and goals.
I have also taken a craniosacral course. Craniosacral therapy is a form of bodywork or alternative therapy that uses gentle touch to palpate the synarthrodial joints of the cranium. I can not wait to share my new found knowledge and techniques with all of you and being a larger part of your health care plan.
Like my FB page to get notifications on the progress I am making to get get back to being able to serve you. FB
My best wishes are sent out to all of you and your families during this unsettling time. Remember to continue your self care by taking small moments each day to just breath. Stay safe and be kind to yourself and others. We are all in this together and will get through it.

We are in trying times right now with the fear of the unknown ahead of us. I hope today finds you safe and in good spirits. We are all struggling with the term "social distancing". Its difficult to digest since we are social by nature, I would prefer to think of it as physical distancing. This will be short term and we can get through this.
I would like to try to keep everyone up to date with what is going in the bodywork healthcare industry as a result of the Covid-19. As I am sure you have heard, the CT department of health as well as Governor Lamont has mandated that all licensed massage therapist stop practicing temporarily as we all do our part to get through this trying time. My extensive LMT training included anatomy, physiology, and pathology so I chose to heed the warnings sooner than later. Do no harm. .So for the time being I am temporarily not taking appointments. I will be available as soon as we are given the go ahead.
In this time our bodies are overproducing and bombarded with adrenaline, cortisol, norepinephrine, the 3 major stress hormones. That is putting our nervous systems in sympathetic/fight or flight response. It can be felt mentally as well as physically in negative ways. We can work together to calm your nervous system, body and mind when this is over. We can do that with piece of mind that all my sanitary precautions will remain in place, as well as any new ones that are required for todays challenges. I want to assure you that when we get through this I will be here for you.
I will be posting updates on FB as well as my website to keep everyone abreast of the latest developments as well as remuneration for your patience and understanding. I am currently offering appreciation discounts to all first responders, doctors, nurses and anyone else that is working on the front line of this pandemic on my coupons and specials tab.
Thank you for your patronage, I look forward to this passing and to being able to be assistance to you in the near future. Stay safe and continue to be kind to one another.
